Christmas Time

Christmas has come and gone. It's kind of sad. I love Christmas. It is one of my favorite holidays. I wish it lasted a little longer though. I was so excited for Christmas this year. Mostly because I was able to get to skype my brother. He is doing really well. He has not changed one bit. But I'm pretty sure Fiji has changed since Karson has been there. :) Now just four more months and he will be home! I can't wait. It has been a long two years it feels like. He has been gone forever.

This Christmas I got a gun, a gun case (its camo with pink in it! I like it!) and bullets,
 a clam
(I got to open it up to get to the pearl!) It was pretty gross but the pearl is very pretty! I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet. I got a new purse, a foot warmer, a foot spa!
I can't wait to use this! And some knee high boots and teal flats.
I love all of my gifts I got but one that I really like is something Karson gave us. Its called a masi.
It means a wall rug (something to that effect, I think that's what Kars told me it meant). It is made out of roots. I love having a part of Karson/ Fiji with me. It constantly makes me remember my brother but on a down fall it make me want to visit Fiji even more than I already do. My family and I are planning on taking a trip out there in 2015. So now comes the hard part... Tying to save our money! Wish us luck because we need it!

I hope every one had a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Merry Christmas

My family doesn't really do gifts for each other any more. Of course we still do but we have started a new tradition where we go find a Angle Tree and do Christmas for them. Its such a humbling experience. It just breaks my heart to know how many families are out there that don't get to have a Christmas. This year I decided to get a teenager because to me it seems like everybody wants the babies. It might not be true but that's how I feel. HOLY COW teenage kids are expensive. We spent so much money on her but it really is worth it.

The Dr. that I work for, his wife is in the Mo-Tab Choir. Every time there is a concert she gets a certain amount of tickets for the family. Luckily they had extras so I was able to get four tickets for the Thursday night Christmas Concert. (He did offer two to me and two to my office manager but she couldn't make it so that's why I got four). So Aaron and I went down to Salt Lake. We went to crown burger had some yummy hamburgers, walked around the Temple, then made our way to the Conference center for the concert. There we met up with Karyn and Ryan. I have never gone to the Christmas Concert before, but I really enjoyed it. We had some good laughs. On Friday night we went with Aarons parents to El Bandito's Christmas play. It was their first year they did a Bandito Christmas. It was interesting but it was pretty good. On Saturday in the afternoon we went to Brigham to hang out with the family. We had dinner, and then went out and looked at some Christmas lights. Today we have been making cookies and more cookies for our neighbors.

I'm so excited for Christmas to come! I can't wait to Skype Karson. This is his last Christmas out as a Missionary. Soon after that it will be April and he will finally be home.

I love to see the Temple

Birthday/Halloween

This Friday we went down to Salt Lake. It was Ryans birthday/Halloween party. I have tried to get our costumes figured out for like a month. The ONLY thing I could get Aaron to agree with me on was being Booth and Dr. Brennan. Its not what I wanted to do but it was cheap and easy.

On Saturday morning we went to Golden Corral for a birthday breakfast. The breakfast was actually better than the dinner. After breakfast we went shopping to get the last minute stuff that we had forgotten. The a few hours later the party finally started. It was very fun, and some pretty cute costumes. We played a few games, did a little karaoke and then finished it off with a few episodes of goosebumps. Here are a few pics of me and my besties.
Karyn and I at the halloween party!

Isn't he pretty handsome!

Booths belt buckle. Aaron is very proud of this belt.

Conference Weekend

So I did end up going with the guys hunting this last weekend! :) Boy did we have an interesting time. We went out Friday night and set up our "camp." We made up our beds and then had a fire. It was a very chilly night/morning. Sleeping was a little warmer then the morning was but unfortunately I didn't get any sleep. Even though we had a ton of blankets underneath us it was still uncomfortable and a very small space. Because of the government shut down, they closed the bird refuge so every one and their dog that goes there came into our area. So there were tons of cars that were driving by the hole night. In the morning we went out, found our spots, set out the decoys, then the wait began. This year they did it a little different. I don't understand it all but all I do know is that we were suppose to start on 7:30. There were some pretty stupid people out there, THEY started shooting at 6:50-7:00. At that time there was a TON of ducks and geese that were flying by. By the time 7:15 came around they had all disappeared on us. :( It was a very sad opening day of us. At least we were able to get something. Doug wounded a bird and Ben finished it off. (I don't like when they actually get one.) I have been wanting to go up the mountains, hike, and get some pictures of the changing trees. So during the Conferences I made my parents come with us on our hike, Since we had nothing else to do while waiting for the second session to start. I love fall. I love the light jacket weather. The color of the leaves. The leaves crunching under my feet. Playing in the leaves. I haven't done that forever. That was on thing I liked to do when I was little. Maybe I can get Aaron to play with me in the leaves this year.

Ups and downs

I'm going to complain for a few minutes. I have been on a roller coaster of emotions lately. I have been trying to make some crafts to sell on etsy this last month-month and a half to help make us some money. Especially lately where I'm not getting a lot of hours at work. We just aren't getting very many people coming in, so that's where I have decided to make crafts and sell it on-line. So far I'm NOT having any luck. :( I came up with another idea to do which I thought would have been a better idea than the first since there are a lot of holidays coming up and I'm still NOT having any luck. It sucks! I know I have to spend money to get started up but at what point do I just need to just give up. There is one thing you do need to know about me and that is I have always been very hard on my self and I get down pretty easy. I mean I have been working on trying to make extra money so we can go on trips! Plus it is always nice to have extra money in the bank! My office manger also started up a business a little bit before I did and I helped her think of things to do. We were going to work together but I just works out better than we don't since it would be a little complicated. It's hard to see her have such a success and I'm not. So now I have wasted close to $45 on supplies and nothing is going any where with it. It just makes me feel bad, I'm trying my best but nothing is happening and I can't do anything to help it out. On the up side..... Last Friday night we went to Brigham had dinner and we went to the temple with Aarons parents. We had some names that we needed to do Sealings for. This was our first time doing Sealings again since we got married and it was a little after a year that we had gotten married, so I was pretending that it was our wedding again. This time I was A LOT CALMER!!! I think it would have made a difference if I had watched a Sealing first. Our Sealer was really cute. He got so emotional with some of the people we were Sealing. Some of the people were from the 1700-1800s. They have been waiting for such a long time to be Sealed for eternity. It's pretty cool to be apart of that experience for these people. I was planning on taking my camera so I could get pictures of us at the temple but I left my purse at the house so the pictures that I'm putting on here are from when we went to the Brigham open house.
This Saturday will be OPENING DAY for duck hunting! I'm not sure if Aaron or myself is more excited for me to join the guys. During the Preston Rodeo Weekend we found a pair of waiters for me. For my birthday he got me a hunting coat. Last night I got home from work and he had gotten me a present... can you call guess what me got me??? Some hunting gloves. THEN we made a drive to Wal-Mart and end up getting me a long sleeved camo under shirt. I am pretty excited. I'm not exactly sure why since I don't ever want to shoot a duck OR have to go fetch one that someone else has shot. I am excited for the over night camp out. Last year when I went it was a little cold but it was very pretty to watch the sun rise. On top of just feeling down my father in law called Aaron to confirm some plans about tomorrow and I may or may not be going hunting now. I guess there are people that check you for licenses. I don't want to have to go through that again (like I did when we were in fish lake, the Conservation Officer was FOR SURE that I was fishing with out a license. MY husband is trying to go into law enforcement, why would I risk getting in trouble... I don't like being in trouble so I try to avoid it.) So who knows what I'll do now. If I do go I will for sure post how the over night duck hunting experience went. But for now I will add some pictures from last year.

September 2013

September has been a pretty good month! The Nelson family got together once again. The boys ditched us for a USU vs U of U football game. So we decided that we would go shopping. It was pretty fun. It was nice to get out and have a girls day again. We ended up getting some cute clothes for our Nelson family pictures. And then we had a baby blessing. September 15th was our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! I can't believe it has already been a year. Its gone by so fast but its been a very good year. I had my first duck hunting experience. I went out with the guys while they were hunting. It sure did suck having to get up soo early but it was very worth it when we saw the sunrise. We were able to go to Chicago for Christmas and spend some time in Windy City with my brother-sister in law. That was a cold and very fun experience. We would really like to go back again but next time it wont be in the winter so we can go do a few more things! :)We had a few camping/fishing trips. My besty came over and spent the weekend with us. It was sure nice to have some company. (Im getting bored with it just being the two of us. It would sure be nice if some people our age would think were cool and would like to hang with us.) We went to a few rodeos. And the most important thing that has happened was the my hubby surprised me for our anniversary. He packed the bags and we spent the night in the Old Rock Church house that we spent our honey moon night in. We went out to dinner, watched some football, put in a movie and I was out by 8:30.... That was an accident but I guess I was more tired than I thought. But the back of my eye lids played a better movie that what we were watching. In the morning Aaron surprised me with one more thing.... He took all of the pictures that we have taken while being together and made a movie slide show. Its the sweetest thing ever. I sure do love my husband! It was a good way to end the first year. Now to many more years and fun adventures to come!

Summer 2013

This summer has been somewhat eventful. At the beginning of the summer Aarons parents took us out to the Hyrum Stake Park and we spent a few nights out there in the cabins. One night when I went out on the lake with Doug and Aaron in this little tiny boat they had made me throw a fish back into the water. I didn't realize that fish were that slipper-ly. I was gross but not as gross them making me cut a worm in half. When Aaron was throwing a fish back into the water it started bleeding and I almost started to throw up. Thankfully I didn't. We took a family trip with Aaron's family to Fish Lake. That was my first time there and it was pretty fun but the only thing you can basically do is.... Fishing, fishing and more fishing. So next time we go I will make sure to get a day or two fishing pass so I have something to do besides sitting in the boat and watching Aaron and his dad fish for FOUR hours straight. I did help cut up another worm but this time I didn't saw it in half like I did on my first fishing trip. Just as we were finishing up for the day it started to sprinkle and within ten minutes it started to pour. I love listening to the rain, its always so peaceful. It was really pretty down there. We saw a lot of does up close. I think they know when its not deer season because they were not shy! They walked near our camp a few times. We went to the Preston parade and side walk sales and hung out with my family. We bought us some hats for the rodeos. Karyn and Ryan came up and spent the weekend with us. It was a pretty busy weekend. We went to the Logan rodeo, my friend got married and I went to baby shower and then we played us a little kareokee. Two weeks later Aaron and I, his parents and my friend Sheri and her hubby went to the Box Elder fair, checked out all the cows and pigs, then on to more stinky chickens and birds. I have never seen some of those piegons. They made my day though. Some of them had some pretty curly hair. We got us some rodeo hamburgers yummy popcorn and watched us some crazy horse and bull riding. We ended up going back to the carnival and I made Aaron play a game and he won me a pretty colorful elephant! This last weekend we had another family gathering for a baby blessing and my awesome sister and brother in law came home from Chicago for the week. The girls went shopping and the guys had ended up going to Salt Lake to watch the USU VS. U of U. It was a pretty close game but sadly we lost. I am going to take a gun safety class so we ended up going shooting some clay piegons. Im not sure how many chances I had but I did hit two! And for me.... Two is not to bad. Maybe its from all the practicing we do with my dad. (Which isn't the much) and I don't do well at target shooting either so if I'm going to pass this gun safety class I better be practicing A LOT more than what I am so I can go out and duck hunt with the in laws.

A couple things have been and will be going on this week. I had to re-register my car but sadly I had to change it to the Utah plates. Maybe we'll frame my old plate so I'll have some part of good ol' Idaho still with me. It was a pretty big life change lol. My husband and father in law think that my car looks pretty good now but I totally disagree. I knew that I would possibly be staying here longer than I thought especially if I ended up marrying a UT boy, which is what ended up happening. So.... Changing my plates were going to be happening sooner than later. We've been looking and looking for jobs but the only state the would look at Aaron was UT so I knew that I would be stuck here for a long time. I love the Logan area plus its really close to home. Once I knew we could have the chance of moving anywhere I was loving the idea mainly because I wanted a new scene to look at besides Preston and Logan. I guess even if we do stay in UT it will hopefully be somewhere a little different then around here. Some warmer weather during the winters would be pretty nice. I'm not much of a snow lover. It's a good thing that I love my husband and I will follow him where ever we get a job.

On a better note! My hubby is GRADUATING on Saturday! It will be so nice having him done with school!
Until next time.....
