Beginning of 2014

So far this year has been pretty great. My brother came home from Fiji! It was so exciting to pick him up and see him again. Its been so long since our family has been together. Karson left a few months before Colby had come home.
Were all together once again! Welcome home Kars

Over Memorial day weekend we went with Aarons Family to Island Park, Wyoming, and Montana.

The next weekend we went camping for my friends birthday and It was our last chance to have a weekend get away before Aaron started working.... Every weekend.

Three weeks ago I got a call from our Bishop. He said he wanted me to call him back. I asked Aaron if he had gotten a phone call phone him, when he said no, I knew I was getting a new calling. We have been married for over a year and a half and have been in the nursery since day one. It has had it's ups and downs. The kids are so cute but they sure can be very whiny, and for some one who isn't around kids very much, it's really hard to deal with. I have no patience for it. As much as I wanted out of the calling to give me a break, to actually get to go to RS and get some adult time, the last thing i wanted was a new calling. I wanted to finally get to know people. I am now the 1st counselor in the RS presidency.  I guess I got what I wanted, to get to know people, it will just be in a different way that I was wanting. I have been in the RS presidency when I was in the singles ward, and ended up really loving that calling. Thinking about why am I in this calling. The Lord knows when we need help, when we will be going through some hard times and I think this is my time for needing help, needing friends more than ever since we have been married.

Two weeks ago we got a phone call saying that Aaron finally got the job! On Wednesday he went down to Salt Lake and got all ready to start the job in Bear Lake on Friday! He will be working Friday through Mondays and will have Tuesday-Thursdays off. While he is working he will be staying there at the lake and then come home on his "weekends off." It's going to be hard for me having him gone most of the time, and when he will be home, I will be working during the day. It makes me very sad that we wont get to see to much of each other for about 6 months. In September he will be staying down in Sandy while he is going through post. Were not sure what is going to happen or where we will end up when Aaron gets done in December.

We made a temple trip with our neighbors a few weeks ago. We decided we would doing Sealings. It was such an amazing experience. Most of the people we Sealed were  from the 1500's or the 1800's. It's so crazy to think how long they have been waiting for us to come and do this for them. It was amazing to feel the difference between Sealing the parents to each other and then Sealing the kids to them.

On Wednesday we had our first meeting as a presidency, and Sunday was my first week going to church since I accepted my calling due to our few trips we have gone on. Just this week of  being around the presidency I have felt their love and friend ship towards me. All they know is that Aaron has a new job and that he will be working Friday- Monday. They don't know that he will be gone that whole time. I thank Heavenly Father for putting me in this position at the time. I will be able to get to know the sisters in the ward as well as doing service for them. I hope that by doing this and serving the Lord that he will protect me, and bless me while Aaron is gone and in the future to come.

I am so happy for Aaron that he finally has a great job that he has been waiting for, for over a year now! As much as I am happy for him for  getting his dream job, I am nervous, and a little afraid for whats to come for me. Bear Lake (Garden City is where we most likely will be) is a very small town and from the looks of it, they don't have very many jobs over in that area. I am not one who likes to sit at home all day doing nothing. I feel lazy as it is when I get home after work, we (mostly Aaron) are tired after we get off work so we sit down, have dinner, and watch TV until it's time to get ready for bed. Now, I am home over the weekends by my self doing nothing and having no one to talk to. Thank goodness I have family close by and a calling, that when someone does something or needs help with anything it will help get me out of the house for a few hours.

I am so thankful for my husband! For all of the hard work he does, I'm sure its not easy for him to leave me either, but he is doing what he needs to to help support our family and future family. I'm thankful for the temple and being about to be Sealed to my husband and my family for ever and ever. I'm Thankful my family and Aarons parents for all of the help and support we have gotten through out the short time we have been married. It has meant the world to us!

Happy New Year!

I haven't ever liked New Years. I don't like staying up late. I like my sleep! I think there has only been a few times that I have actually stayed up for it. If I do something then I can make it. Last night I made it to 11:15 and I was out.

This year we spent New Years with Aarons family. It was pretty fun, had family time, played games and watched a few movies. But that was the problem. We watched a few to many.... and so I crashed.

What I really want to write about is about making resolutions. I don't know how many people read my blog but maybe if I write them on here then hopefully I will actually keep them.

Tasha New Years Resolutions:
1. Be more positive.
2. Be kinder to people around me.
3. Be a better wife.
4. Be more organized. Clean more often.

Stuff I would like to do: (hopefully I can do some of them)
1. Go on a trip. (To cali)
2. Go on a cruise.
3. Take more adventures.
4. Take another trip out to Chicago. (But if I had to I could wait one more year.)
5. Save lots of money to go on my Fiji trip in '15!
6. Make lots and lots and LOTS of money to go on all of my trips (and I didn't even add the other few places that I'd like to see.)

Hope you all have a happy 2014!

Christmas Time

Christmas has come and gone. It's kind of sad. I love Christmas. It is one of my favorite holidays. I wish it lasted a little longer though. I was so excited for Christmas this year. Mostly because I was able to get to skype my brother. He is doing really well. He has not changed one bit. But I'm pretty sure Fiji has changed since Karson has been there. :) Now just four more months and he will be home! I can't wait. It has been a long two years it feels like. He has been gone forever.

This Christmas I got a gun, a gun case (its camo with pink in it! I like it!) and bullets,
 a clam
(I got to open it up to get to the pearl!) It was pretty gross but the pearl is very pretty! I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet. I got a new purse, a foot warmer, a foot spa!
I can't wait to use this! And some knee high boots and teal flats.
I love all of my gifts I got but one that I really like is something Karson gave us. Its called a masi.
It means a wall rug (something to that effect, I think that's what Kars told me it meant). It is made out of roots. I love having a part of Karson/ Fiji with me. It constantly makes me remember my brother but on a down fall it make me want to visit Fiji even more than I already do. My family and I are planning on taking a trip out there in 2015. So now comes the hard part... Tying to save our money! Wish us luck because we need it!

I hope every one had a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Merry Christmas

My family doesn't really do gifts for each other any more. Of course we still do but we have started a new tradition where we go find a Angle Tree and do Christmas for them. Its such a humbling experience. It just breaks my heart to know how many families are out there that don't get to have a Christmas. This year I decided to get a teenager because to me it seems like everybody wants the babies. It might not be true but that's how I feel. HOLY COW teenage kids are expensive. We spent so much money on her but it really is worth it.

The Dr. that I work for, his wife is in the Mo-Tab Choir. Every time there is a concert she gets a certain amount of tickets for the family. Luckily they had extras so I was able to get four tickets for the Thursday night Christmas Concert. (He did offer two to me and two to my office manager but she couldn't make it so that's why I got four). So Aaron and I went down to Salt Lake. We went to crown burger had some yummy hamburgers, walked around the Temple, then made our way to the Conference center for the concert. There we met up with Karyn and Ryan. I have never gone to the Christmas Concert before, but I really enjoyed it. We had some good laughs. On Friday night we went with Aarons parents to El Bandito's Christmas play. It was their first year they did a Bandito Christmas. It was interesting but it was pretty good. On Saturday in the afternoon we went to Brigham to hang out with the family. We had dinner, and then went out and looked at some Christmas lights. Today we have been making cookies and more cookies for our neighbors.

I'm so excited for Christmas to come! I can't wait to Skype Karson. This is his last Christmas out as a Missionary. Soon after that it will be April and he will finally be home.

I love to see the Temple

Birthday/Halloween

This Friday we went down to Salt Lake. It was Ryans birthday/Halloween party. I have tried to get our costumes figured out for like a month. The ONLY thing I could get Aaron to agree with me on was being Booth and Dr. Brennan. Its not what I wanted to do but it was cheap and easy.

On Saturday morning we went to Golden Corral for a birthday breakfast. The breakfast was actually better than the dinner. After breakfast we went shopping to get the last minute stuff that we had forgotten. The a few hours later the party finally started. It was very fun, and some pretty cute costumes. We played a few games, did a little karaoke and then finished it off with a few episodes of goosebumps. Here are a few pics of me and my besties.

Isn't he pretty handsome!

Conference Weekend

So I did end up going with the guys hunting this last weekend! :) Boy did we have an interesting time. We went out Friday night and set up our "camp." We made up our beds and then had a fire. It was a very chilly night/morning. Sleeping was a little warmer then the morning was but unfortunately I didn't get any sleep. Even though we had a ton of blankets underneath us it was still uncomfortable and a very small space. Because of the government shut down, they closed the bird refuge so every one and their dog that goes there came into our area. So there were tons of cars that were driving by the hole night. In the morning we went out, found our spots, set out the decoys, then the wait began. This year they did it a little different. I don't understand it all but all I do know is that we were suppose to start on 7:30. There were some pretty stupid people out there, THEY started shooting at 6:50-7:00. At that time there was a TON of ducks and geese that were flying by. By the time 7:15 came around they had all disappeared on us. :( It was a very sad opening day of us. At least we were able to get something. Doug wounded a bird and Ben finished it off. (I don't like when they actually get one.) I have been wanting to go up the mountains, hike, and get some pictures of the changing trees. So during the Conferences I made my parents come with us on our hike, Since we had nothing else to do while waiting for the second session to start. I love fall. I love the light jacket weather. The color of the leaves. The leaves crunching under my feet. Playing in the leaves. I haven't done that forever. That was on thing I liked to do when I was little. Maybe I can get Aaron to play with me in the leaves this year.

Ups and downs

I'm going to complain for a few minutes. I have been on a roller coaster of emotions lately. I have been trying to make some crafts to sell on etsy this last month-month and a half to help make us some money. Especially lately where I'm not getting a lot of hours at work. We just aren't getting very many people coming in, so that's where I have decided to make crafts and sell it on-line. So far I'm NOT having any luck. :( I came up with another idea to do which I thought would have been a better idea than the first since there are a lot of holidays coming up and I'm still NOT having any luck. It sucks! I know I have to spend money to get started up but at what point do I just need to just give up. There is one thing you do need to know about me and that is I have always been very hard on my self and I get down pretty easy. I mean I have been working on trying to make extra money so we can go on trips! Plus it is always nice to have extra money in the bank! My office manger also started up a business a little bit before I did and I helped her think of things to do. We were going to work together but I just works out better than we don't since it would be a little complicated. It's hard to see her have such a success and I'm not. So now I have wasted close to $45 on supplies and nothing is going any where with it. It just makes me feel bad, I'm trying my best but nothing is happening and I can't do anything to help it out. On the up side..... Last Friday night we went to Brigham had dinner and we went to the temple with Aarons parents. We had some names that we needed to do Sealings for. This was our first time doing Sealings again since we got married and it was a little after a year that we had gotten married, so I was pretending that it was our wedding again. This time I was A LOT CALMER!!! I think it would have made a difference if I had watched a Sealing first. Our Sealer was really cute. He got so emotional with some of the people we were Sealing. Some of the people were from the 1700-1800s. They have been waiting for such a long time to be Sealed for eternity. It's pretty cool to be apart of that experience for these people. I was planning on taking my camera so I could get pictures of us at the temple but I left my purse at the house so the pictures that I'm putting on here are from when we went to the Brigham open house.
This Saturday will be OPENING DAY for duck hunting! I'm not sure if Aaron or myself is more excited for me to join the guys. During the Preston Rodeo Weekend we found a pair of waiters for me. For my birthday he got me a hunting coat. Last night I got home from work and he had gotten me a present... can you call guess what me got me??? Some hunting gloves. THEN we made a drive to Wal-Mart and end up getting me a long sleeved camo under shirt. I am pretty excited. I'm not exactly sure why since I don't ever want to shoot a duck OR have to go fetch one that someone else has shot. I am excited for the over night camp out. Last year when I went it was a little cold but it was very pretty to watch the sun rise. On top of just feeling down my father in law called Aaron to confirm some plans about tomorrow and I may or may not be going hunting now. I guess there are people that check you for licenses. I don't want to have to go through that again (like I did when we were in fish lake, the Conservation Officer was FOR SURE that I was fishing with out a license. MY husband is trying to go into law enforcement, why would I risk getting in trouble... I don't like being in trouble so I try to avoid it.) So who knows what I'll do now. If I do go I will for sure post how the over night duck hunting experience went. But for now I will add some pictures from last year.
